Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your personal information
Effective and last reviewed: August 13, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how Automateed handles personal information when you visit automateed.com, use the Automateed book-creation service and apps, publish or sell through an Automateed reader or author page, or contact us. It applies to the Automateed services on automateed.com, ai.automateed.com, and publisher.automateed.com.
Who is responsible for your information
Automateed is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Privacy and data-rights questions can be sent to stefan@automateed.com.
Information we collect
- Account and contact information: your name, email address, login details, profile information, language, and preferences.
- Book and project information: the prompts, instructions, manuscripts, outlines, chapters, images, audio, uploaded files, edits, publishing settings, and other material you submit or create in the service.
- Commerce information: plan, credit, order, subscription, marketplace, payout, and transaction records. Payment providers handle card or wallet credentials; Automateed receives information such as transaction identifiers, status, amount, currency, and the billing or contact details the provider makes available.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and device information, pages and features used, timestamps, error and security logs, referrer, landing page, and actions such as registration or checkout clicks.
- Attribution and advertising information: UTM parameters and advertising click identifiers such as gclid, fbclid, msclkid, and ttclid when they are present in a URL.
- Communications: support requests, feedback, correction or deletion requests, and other messages you send us.
- Public information: if you choose to publish a book, sample, product, author page, or other material publicly, the information you publish is available to visitors and search engines.
How we use information
We use information to create and administer accounts; provide book planning, generation, editing, export, narration, publishing, marketplace, and support features; process purchases, subscriptions, credits, orders, royalties, and payouts; maintain project continuity; send service and transactional messages; secure the service and prevent fraud or abuse; diagnose errors; understand product use; measure campaigns; comply with law; and establish or defend legal claims.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the legal basis depends on the activity. It may be performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, or consent where the law requires consent. You may withdraw consent for future processing at any time, but withdrawal does not make earlier processing unlawful.
AI and media generation
Automateed uses specialist service providers to generate text, images, audio, and related outputs. The project instructions and content needed for the requested operation may be sent to those providers. Do not submit confidential, personal, or third-party material unless you are authorized to have it processed. Review generated material before publishing it.
Payments, payouts, and service providers
We disclose information to vendors that perform services for Automateed, including hosting, storage, database, generation, file delivery, email, support, security, analytics, payment, and payout services. Stripe and PayPal may process purchases. Publisher payments or payouts may also involve Stripe Connect or the payout method selected by the publisher, such as PayPal, Wise, Payoneer, or bank transfer. Those providers handle information under their own privacy terms.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, in connection with a corporate transaction, or at your direction. Automateed does not sell private manuscripts or private project content. Some analytics and advertising disclosures may be treated as a sale or sharing of personal information under certain US state laws even when no money changes hands; you may contact us to exercise an applicable opt-out right.
Cookies, local storage, analytics, and advertising
The service uses cookies, session storage, local storage, and similar technologies for login, language and interface preferences, attribution, security, analytics, and testing. On the marketing site, attribution data may be stored in an Automateed cookie for up to 30 days, and an advertising click identifier may be stored for up to 90 days. Session and experiment identifiers may have shorter or different lifetimes.
The marketing site currently uses Google Analytics and Google Ads, Meta Pixel, and Microsoft Clarity for measurement, advertising attribution, and understanding site use. These services may receive technical and usage information as described in their own privacy policies. Browser settings and provider opt-out controls can limit or delete cookies, although some login, preference, or measurement functions may then work differently.
Public publishing
Projects are not made public merely because they exist in your account. If you use a public publishing, marketplace, reader-page, or author-site feature, the title, cover, author or seller information, description, sample, price, and other material you select for publication may become public. Public material may be copied, indexed, cached, or shared by third parties outside Automateed's control. Remove public listings before requesting account deletion if you want them taken down promptly, and identify the affected URLs in your request.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and project information for as long as needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterward. Retention varies by data type and may be extended for accounting, tax, payment, fraud-prevention, security, dispute, or other legal requirements. Backup copies are removed through the applicable backup cycle rather than immediately from every backup. Public search-engine caches and copies made by third parties are not controlled by Automateed.
To request deletion, correction, access, or another applicable privacy right, email stefan@automateed.com. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and authority. More detail is available in our Data Deletion Policy.
International processing
Automateed and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use an appropriate legal mechanism for an international transfer. Local privacy protections may differ from those in your country.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so keep your credentials private and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of certain personal information, and to appeal or complain to a regulator. You can unsubscribe from promotional email using the link in the message. Service, security, billing, and legal notices may still be sent when necessary. To make a request, email stefan@automateed.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, vendors, or legal requirements change. We will replace the date at the top only after the policy has actually been reviewed or materially updated.
