60-second summary
Quick answer
Open Web address, enter the full domain or subdomain, save it, add the exact DNS values shown by Automateed, then use Check now until the connected state appears.
Before you start
What you need
- Sign in to the Automateed account that owns the relevant project or purchase.
- Have the project, source file or account setting needed for “Open Web address” ready before changing anything.
Procedure
Complete the task step by step
- 01
Open Web address
Choose the intended Publisher Site, open Web address and enter the domain under Use your own address (optional).
Current app screen
The custom domain field, Save and Check now controls are on the Web address tab. The example domain is redacted. - 02
Save the domain
Click Save so Automateed can display the exact DNS record for that address.
- 03
Copy the required DNS values
Use the exact Type, Name / Host and Value shown by Automateed. Apex domains can also require the forwarding step displayed on the page.
- 04
Add records at your DNS provider
Keep records DNS-only when the setup specifically requires direct verification.
- 05
Check the connection
Return to Web address and click Check now. DNS changes can take a few hours to become visible.
- 06
Verify the complete journey
Open the homepage, a book page, checkout and confirmation flow on the custom domain.
Success check
Confirm that it worked
- The expected result from “Verify the complete journey” is visible in the relevant Automateed screen or exported file.
- Refresh the page once and confirm the saved state remains unchanged.
Important notes
- Do not remove unrelated MX or email records while editing website DNS.
- A connected custom domain should keep users on that domain for supported public book and course routes.
Troubleshooting
If it still does not work
The author homepage works but product links open the wrong host
Republish the site after domain verification and test a product card from the custom domain. Product URLs should preserve the site context so checkout and navigation stay on the connected host.
